Cleveland County Arrest Records
Pursuant to North Carolina's Public Records Law, arrest records are considered public information. These records, when related to arrests made by deputies or arrests that led to jail detention, are created and maintained by the Cleveland County Sheriff's Office. The Sheriff prints a daily bulletin of arrests on its official website.
Note that certain arrest records are restricted to protect ongoing investigations and the identities of minors or victims in domestic violence or sexual abuse cases. When a case is sealed or expunged, its underlying arrest records are also removed from public view.
A typical Cleveland County arrest record contains
- The full name of the arrested person, age, and date of birth
- Arrest date and location
- Charge classification (infraction, misdemeanor, or felony)
- Name of arresting officer
- Booking photograph
